The Australian Academy of Natural Sciences is established

AANS is now formally registered as an incorporated association in Victoria, marking the beginning of our mission to promote and advance excellence in the natural sciences across Australia.

The Academy's official website is now online, providing information on our mission, membership, programmes and activities, and serving as the central platform for members and the wider community.

Membership framework established

The Academy has established its membership framework, comprising six categories including Fellow, Honorary Fellow and International Fellow. Each category recognises distinct levels of contribution and standing in the natural sciences.

Membership applications now open

Applications for membership are now open. Prospective members may apply online, and existing members can log in to manage their profile, submit supporting materials and access their membership certificate.

The Academy has announced its initial programmes, spanning young scientist development, industry collaboration, international exchange and science education & outreach, reflecting our commitment to recognition, education and collaboration.
